The film's plot includes Nobita, who pitches an attitude fit since he needs a truly large RC toy robot to upstage the rich youngster, Suneo Honekawa, who has been flaunting the new robot that his cousin made. His fit just annoys Doraemon who utilizes his Anywhere Door to move away from the late spring heat, toward the North Pole. Nobita before long follows and finds a bizarre bowling ball-like circle that starts blinking with a throbbing light, and requests what resembles a monster robot's foot.
After Nobita utilizes the foot to sled down, colliding with his room through the Anywhere Door, the bowling ball follows him home through the entryway and another robot piece falls into his backyard. A frozen Doraemon trails not very far behind, covered in ice before being defrosted and with a virus. Learning of the robot parts, Doraemon owns up to Nobita that he doesn't have anything to do with it, and the two utilize the Opposite World Entrance Oil and the Roll-Up Fishing Hole to enter the World Inside the Mirror, another mirror world without individuals. There, they construct the robot which Nobita dedicates "Zanda Claus" as he accepted the circle calling the parts from Santa Claus.
Using a mind wave regulator that Doraemon pulls out of his pocket, Nobita has the robot perform gymnastic moves in a mirror world before carrying Shizuka Minamoto to join the fun. The trio enjoys but later, however, Shizuka accidentally presses a button on the control panel, making the robot fire a huge laser beam that destroys a whole skyscraper. The group realizes just how dangerous Zanda Claus is, and they decide to return to the real world and forget about ever having found the robot.
